Ten years ago, in 2014, my sister bought my dad a French press and a grinder along with a bag of fresh coffee beans, inviting him into the world of making coffee in a new and superior way.

I was skeptical, clinging to my Verismo at the time, but I was intrigued enough to give it a try also. Long story short, I instantly fell in love with French press coffee!

French Press coffee, also known as press pot or plunger pot, is a popular brewing method that produces a rich and flavorful cup of coffee. But what exactly is French Press coffee and how does it work?

What is French Press Coffee?

French Press coffee is a manual brewing method that involves steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in hot water for a few minutes before pressing down a plunger to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee. This process allows the coffee to extract its full flavor and oils, resulting in a robust and aromatic cup of joe.

Try topping off your coffee with whipped cream. It's delicious!

How Does it Work?

To make French Press coffee, you start by adding coarsely ground coffee beans to the bottom of the press. Then, you pour hot water over the grounds and let it steep for about 4 minutes. After steeping, you press down the plunger, which has a fine mesh filter, to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee. The coffee is then ready to be poured and enjoyed.

One of the key advantages of French Press coffee is that it allows for full immersion brewing, which means that the coffee grounds are fully saturated with water during the brewing process. This results in a more flavorful and aromatic cup of coffee compared to other brewing methods.

Benefits of French Press Coffee

French Press coffee is known for its rich and bold flavor profile, making it a favorite among coffee enthusiasts. The full immersion brewing process extracts more oils and flavors from the coffee grounds, resulting in a more intense and complex cup of coffee. Additionally, the metal mesh filter in the French Press allows for more oils to pass through, giving the coffee a fuller body and mouthfeel.

Furthermore, French Press coffee is a simple and affordable brewing method that requires no electricity, making it ideal for camping trips or travel. It also gives the user full control over the brewing process, allowing them to customize the strength and flavor of their coffee to their liking.

Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just looking to elevate your morning routine, French Press coffee is a versatile and delicious brewing method worth exploring. Its simplicity, affordability, and ability to produce a rich and flavorful cup of coffee make it a popular choice among coffee lovers worldwide.

Why I Love French Press Coffee

One of the reasons why people (including me) fall head over heels for French press coffee is because of its rich and full-bodied flavor. It's like a symphony of coffee goodness dancing on your taste buds. (Who knew a cup of coffee could be so melodious, right?)

I love it so much! Just as much as I love coffee jokes.

Whether you're in need of a morning boost, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a cozy drink to wind down your day, French press coffee has got your back. It's like a loyal friend that's always there for you when you need it most. (Coffee truly is the best companion, isn't it?)

So, if you're ready to take your coffee game to the next level and experience the magic of French press coffee, what are you waiting for? Grab your French press, some quality coffee beans, and get brewing! Your taste buds will thank you. (And who knows, maybe you'll become a French press coffee fanatic like the rest of us!)
